Vegan Cha Siu Bao (BBQ Roast Vegan "Pork" Buns) - 4 pcs
We've taken a delicious dim sum staple and made it enjoyable for vegetarians, vegans, and omnivores! 叉燒包 (cha siu bao) originated in Guangdong Province, China and has spread in popularity around the world. It's traditional version uses pork but wonder of wonders, we've substituted soya chunks (also known as textured vegetable protein [TVP for short]) to replicate the same sumptuous tastes and flavors. So much so that we have sometimes mistaken this vegan bao for its meat relative!
A pillowy lightly sweetened steamed bun surrounds the filling that's been mixed with caramelized onions, sweet and savory sauce, and broiled to produce that slightly charred BBQ taste. Don't take our word for it, try them yourself to see why these baos are so addictive!
Each 12 oz. bag contains (4) frozen fully cooked cha siu baos. To reheat, simply steam the number of bao you would like to eat for approximately 14-15 minutes.
